Greek universities outline strategic goals for internationalization and academic unity

Greek university leaders have outlined strategic priorities for higher education during the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair.

Charalambos Billinis, Rector of the University of Thessaly, announced the institution is prepared for the new academic year. His administration's priorities include increasing the university's international presence, upgrading infrastructure, and strengthening social engagement.

Anna K. Batistatou, Rector of the University of Ioannina, emphasized the importance of the 'European Degree' to facilitate the free movement of knowledge across borders. She advocated for a unified academic framework to transcend national boundaries regarding degrees and administration. The University of Ioannina is currently participating in the ARTEMIS European University Alliance, which involves joint curricula and shared research infrastructure with seven other European universities. Additionally, the university is implementing digital literacy programs focused on critical thinking and the responsible use of technology.
