Green Day's New Film “Nimrods” Hits Theaters Worldwide in August

The comedy‑drama road film “Nimrods”, written and directed by Lee Kirk, dramatizes the early touring years of punk‑rock band Green Day. Starring Mason Thames as a hopeful guitarist who fakes a call to open the band’s New Year’s Eve concert, the story follows his band’s frantic drive from Kansas City to Los Angeles, echoing the group’s original van‑tour. The film features appearances by Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, and includes a live‑performance segment recorded at the Palladium in Los Angeles.

“Nimrods” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and will roll out in cinemas worldwide from August 11 to 18 in 4K format. A companion soundtrack, released July 31, contains 30 tracks – 22 classic Green Day songs, new original material and live recordings – and is available on CD, vinyl, cassette and digital platforms.
