Green Day’s ‘Nimrods’ Film Opens in Italian Theaters August 11
The road‑movie “Nimrods”, directed by Lee Kirk and produced by Live Nation Studios, Process Media and Green Day, dramatizes the band’s early‑90s punk‑rock days before the breakthrough album *Dookie*. The fictional teen‑band Analog Dogs travel from Kansas City to Los Angeles in a stolen car, intersecting real‑life footage of Green Day concerts and the infamous Woodstock ’94 mud‑fight.
In Italy the film will screen from 11 to 18 August 2026, distributed by Nexo Studios, with tickets on sale from 14 July. A 30‑track soundtrack – including classic Green Day songs and an unreleased track “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” – will be issued on 31 July. The cast features Mason Thames, McKenna Grace, Jenna Fischer, Keen Ruffalo and the three members of Green Day appearing as themselves. The movie debuted internationally under the title “New Year’s Rev” at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.
