Green Man Festival donates tokens to firefighters

The Green Man Festival has donated 80 free festival tokens to firefighters as a gesture of gratitude for their work during a challenging summer of wildfires. Members of the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service will be able to use these tokens to attend the festival, which begins on Thursday, August 20, in Marc Glan-wysg near Crughywel.

The donation follows a period of intense activity for fire crews responding to multiple major incidents across Wales, including fires in Rhinogydd and Rhandirmwyn. Festival organizers stated that the service crews went above and beyond in their response to these events.

Due to the recent wildfire activity affecting Wales, organizers have decided to cancel the traditional burning of the Green Man effigy at the end of the weekend. Instead, a special farewell will be held. The festival is scheduled to run from August 20 to 23, featuring artists such as Wilco, Mogwai, Tricky, and Charlotte Church.
