Green SM launches electric ride‑hailing service in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Vietnamese electric ride‑hailing platform Green SM, part of Vingroup, officially began operations on 23 June in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The service uses a fleet of VinFast VF 6 Eco eSUVs to provide fully electric taxis.

The launch includes a 26 % discount of up to 2,626 KZT for rides booked through the Green SM app, a driver‑training programme for its “Green Drivers”, and strategic partnerships with five local companies in transport, tourism, technology and services under the “Green Alliance Frontier” initiative.

CEO Nguyen Quoc Tuan said, “Kazakhstan is a market with strong potential, dynamic growth, and rising expectations for modern services. We come to Kazakhstan with respect for the market, a long‑term commitment to investment, and a desire to work alongside local partners in developing high‑quality mobility solutions.” The move follows Green SM’s recent expansion into India and reflects its broader plan to build a green mobility ecosystem across multiple countries.
