Greenchem Romania seeks to acquire three AdBlue distributors

The Romanian Competition Council is reviewing a proposed acquisition by Greenchem Romania, a producer of the diesel exhaust fluid AdBlue. The transaction involves Greenchem taking over the assets of three Romanian distributors: Inovator Smart Choice, STD EST Logistic, and AD Complex Logis.

The assets to be acquired include customer bases for both regular contract-based purchases and one-off orders. The Competition Council will evaluate the deal to ensure it is compatible with a normal competitive environment.

Greenchem Romania is part of the Greenchem Holding BV, which is owned by the Agrofert Group. Agrofert is a large Czech industrial holding with an annual turnover exceeding EUR 8 billion and is controlled by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. This move follows Agrofert’s previous expansion into the Romanian market, including the 2023 acquisition of the grain trader East Grain.
