Greenland Energy advances Jameson Land Basin project amid global energy security concerns

Greenland Energy Company (NASDAQ: GLND) is moving ahead with its Jameson Land Basin project in eastern Greenland. Under an agreement that could give the firm up to a 70% working interest, the company will fund exploration activities, including the drilling of two wells.

Field preparation and infrastructure planning are underway for a fully financed drilling programme slated for 2026. The effort is framed against heightened geopolitical tensions, particularly concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, which have sharpened focus on diversifying oil supply sources and bolstering global energy security. Analysts note that the Jameson Land Basin remains largely unexplored, offering the prospect of significant hydrocarbon discoveries that could reduce reliance on volatile producing regions. Greenland Energy is one of the few publicly traded firms dedicated to Arctic oil development, and its progress is being closely monitored by investors and industry observers.
