Greenland Energy Company lands drilling equipment without authorization
The Greenlandic government has reported the unauthorized landing of drilling equipment by the Texas-based Greenland Energy Company. A vessel operated by Permagreen recently unloaded an excavator and 15 containers of equipment at the port of Nerlerit Inaat on Greenland's east coast without the necessary permits.
The Greenlandic Ministry of Energy stated that the company lacks the required authorizations to conduct exploration in Jameson Land, a protected wetland under the Ramsar Convention.
