Greenland Energy launches $70 million Jameson Land Basin drilling programme

Greenland Energy (NASDAQ: GLND) announced it will fund a two‑well drilling campaign in Greenland’s Jameson Land Basin during the second half of 2026. Under a farm‑in deal with partner 80 Mile PLC, the company will hold a 70 % interest while 80 Mile retains 30 %. The estimated cost of the drilling programme is US$70 million (≈DKK 550 million). 80 Mile appointed executive director Roderick McIllree as managing director of Greenland Energy Company to oversee day‑to‑day operations, permitting, regulatory engagement and stakeholder relations with the Greenland Government and local authorities. The basin spans more than 8,400 km² and is regarded as one of the world’s largest underexplored on‑shore hydrocarbon regions. Halliburton and Stampede Drilling have been engaged to provide consulting, logistics and drilling support, while all field activities remain subject to Greenlandic regulatory approval.
