Greenvolt sells 400 MW energy storage assets in Poland

Greenvolt Power, a subsidiary of Greenvolt Group, has signed an agreement to sell two large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in northeastern Poland to Malta-based A&R Investments. The facilities, located in Ełk and Turośnia Kościelna, each possess a capacity of 200 MW and 800 MWh, totaling 400 MW and 1.6 GWh.

The construction of both sites was completed in the third quarter of 2026, and they have received the necessary operating permits. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to standard closing conditions. The sale price has not been disclosed.

The assets include 17-year contracts within the Polish capacity market, scheduled to begin in 2028. These contracts will provide revenue by ensuring the facilities remain available to the power system at 85% of their rated capacity. Additionally, the projects are covered by 10-year tolling agreements designed to optimize operations and commercial flexibility within energy markets.
