Grimes announces AI-inspired album ‘Psy Opera’

Canadian electro-pop singer Grimes has announced details regarding her upcoming studio album, titled ‘Psy Opera’. During an appearance on the Swiftologist podcast, the artist confirmed that the new project, which is inspired by themes of artificial intelligence and technology, will not include references to her former partner, Elon Musk.

Grimes indicated that the album may be released in two parts. She described the work as a journey that explores themes of nihilism and aggression, noting that she intends to balance emotional depth with technological concepts. While she expressed a desire to blend more emotion into the project, she noted that the focus remains on the relevance of AI as a mirror to humanity.

Grimes and Musk, who share three children, were in a relationship from approximately 2018 until 2022.
