Grêmio faces pressure over Luís Castro's future

Meanwhile, club management has signaled that there is a limit to the current situation, with executive director Paulo Pelaipe stating that ‘everything has a limit.’

Renato Portaluppi has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Castro. The club's board has reportedly set a deadline for Castro to deliver positive results in upcoming matches, specifically the Gre-Nais derbies and the fixture against Chapecoense, to determine his future. Although Castro has not expressed intentions to resign, his departure would likely require a board decision due to a high contract termination fee.
