Grêmio announces new signings Danilo Barbosa and Leonardo Gaciba

Grêmio has announced two significant additions to its organization. On the field, the club signed 30-year-old midfielder Danilo Barbosa from Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia. Barbosa brings extensive experience from leagues in Belgium, Spain, Portugal, and France, and has previously won the Copa Libertadores with Palmeiras and Botafogo.

Off the field, the club appointed former FIFA referee and former CBF refereeing chief Leonardo Gaciba as an official refereeing consultant. Gaciba will be responsible for advising players and technical staff, producing technical reports, and acting as a liaison with refereeing commissions from the FGF, CBF, Conmebol, and FIFA.

These developments come as Grêmio prepares to face Atlético-MG in the 23rd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro at the Arena MRV. The match is critical for Grêmio as they attempt to distance themselves from the relegation zone. Additionally, the club is managing roster changes, including the potential departure of midfielder Monsalve, who has been training separately as the club seeks to reduce its wage bill.
