Multiple fire emergencies have been reported across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, involving residential buildings, industrial sites, and agricultural areas.
In Berlin, a dramatic high-rise fire in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg led to the evacuation of residents via ladders, with several people injured and some attempting to jump from balconies. In Winterthur, Switzerland, a garage fire caused by a vehicle destroyed one car and damaged approximately 40 others, resulting in the evacuation of nearby apartment buildings and one firefighter receiving an electric shock.
Industrial and commercial sectors also faced significant incidents. A fire at the Bedford meat processing plant in Osnabrück halted production, while a large fire at a waste management facility in Mettmach required 16 fire departments. In Grünkraut, a fire at two economic buildings caused an estimated 2.5 million euros in damage and resulted in 13 injuries, including firefighters.
Agricultural and outdoor fires were also noted, including a field and forest fire in Borken, a large field fire in Garsten, Austria, and a straw bale fire in Magdeburg. Various other incidents involved residential balcony fires, workshop fires, and garage smoke developments in Ludwigsburg and Leoben.
