GRNMA pledges legal support for Nurse Salomey Baffoe
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has pledged its continued legal and welfare support for Nurse Salomey Awiti Baffoe as she faces prosecution in the ‘Ghana Jollof’ case.
Nurse Baffoe has been charged with abetment of crime, specifically the publication of false news, under the Criminal Offences Act, 1960. The prosecution alleges she assisted Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, known as ‘Ghana Jollof’, in circulating videos and recruiting individuals to distribute content. Baffoe has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which have not yet been established in court.
GRNMA National President Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo reaffirmed the association’s commitment during a visit to Baffoe in the Bono Region. While noting that the allegations are unrelated to Baffoe’s professional nursing duties, Ofori-Ampofo stated that the association has arranged legal representation to assist the nurse through the judicial process.
