Prosecutors claim forensic investigations of Baffoe’s mobile phone and mobile money records revealed financial links between her and Kodua. The case has drawn significant political criticism. New Patriotic Party (NPP) Greater Accra Regional Chairman Bernard Okoe Boye has threatened to organize a sit-in at the police station to demand her bail, arguing her detention violates principles of natural justice. Additionally, NPP Ahafo Regional Communication Director Alfred Asiedu warned that the late-night arrest without an immediate warrant could set a dangerous precedent, potentially providing a blueprint for criminals to mimic security operatives for kidnapping.

Following an initial two-week remand by the Adenta Circuit Court, Baffoe is scheduled for a High Court bail hearing on September 23, 2026. Her lawyer, Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah, has expressed confidence that bail will be granted, asserting that the investigation is effectively complete and there is no justification for her continued detention.
