Germany weather: Rain and potential ground frost forecast

Germany is experiencing unsettled weather patterns across various regions, characterized by rain, cloud cover, and the potential for ground frost.

In Northern Germany, including Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, cloudy skies and rain are expected to increase from Saturday evening through Sunday. Temperatures in these coastal areas are forecasted to remain between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius.

In Bavaria, a low-pressure system is bringing increasing cloud cover and rain that will spread from Franconia across most parts of the state. Temperatures are expected to range between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, with wind gusts possible in the Bavarian Forest.

Leipzig is also seeing overcast conditions with a high probability of rain and temperatures reaching approximately 20 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the Deutscher Wetterdienst has issued warnings regarding potential ground frost in raised beds. While standard weather stations may report temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, the air layer just above the ground can drop below freezing, necessitating protection for sensitive plants like spinach and lettuce.
