Ground worker dies after being struck by aircraft in Montreal

A ground worker has died after being struck by an Airbus 350 at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The incident occurred on a Monday evening around 7:30 p.m. while a French bee flight bound for Paris was preparing for departure.

According to Montreal police, the employee, a ramp agent for ground handling company Samsic, was struck while the aircraft was reversing. The worker was rushed to a hospital but subsequently passed away. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which represents the worker, issued a statement expressing condolences to the family and colleagues.

French bee reported that the accident involved the aircraft and a pushback vehicle used during ground operations, noting that all passengers and crew were safe. The Quebec coroner’s office has assigned coroner Amélie Lavigne to investigate the circumstances of the death.
