Selçuklu (Konya) ramps up asphalt work, 1,050‑1,500 tonnes laid

The Selçuklu district municipality in Konya continues extensive road‑improvement works. Teams from the municipality’s Fen İşleri (Public Works) Directorate are applying hot asphalt on Efediyarı in Sille Ak neighbourhood and on Ortakaya Street. The projects target both infrastructure reinforcement and surface renewal, with a total asphalt volume of roughly 1,050 tonnes (some reports cite 1,500 tonnes).

Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı said the season‑long effort aims to provide residents with safer, more comfortable transportation. He stressed that crews are working overtime to coordinate rapid solutions across all neighbourhoods, thanking personnel for their intensive labour. The ongoing works are part of a broader municipal programme to upgrade main arteries and local streets throughout Selçuklu.

The municipality reports that the hot‑asphalt applications are proceeding without interruption, prioritising quality and speed to minimise disruption for commuters.
