GRT-Lamborghini appeals Mirko Bortolotti's DTM disqualification

GRT-Lamborghini has officially filed an appeal with the DMSB Appeal Court regarding the disqualification of driver Mirko Bortolotti during the DTM race in Oschersleben. The team, led by Gottfried Grasser, maintains that the wheel bearing in question complied with technical regulations.

The appeal was submitted within the required 96-hour window. The team now has one week to provide a written justification for the appeal, after which a hearing date at the DMSB Appeal Court in Frankfurt will be set.

The outcome of this legal process has significant implications for the DTM championship standings. Currently, the results from Oschersleben remain provisional, with Maro Engel listed as the winner. If the appeal is successful, Bortolotti could be reinstated, which would alter the points distribution among the top contenders, potentially placing Maro Engel and Thomas Preining on equal points heading into the season finale.
