Grupa Azoty reports improved Q2 results amid Siarkopol restructuring calls
Grupa Azoty has reported estimated consolidated revenues of 3.37 billion PLN and an EBITDA of 294 million PLN for the second quarter of 2026. This represents an EBITDA increase of 365 million PLN compared to the same period in 2025, with an EBITDA margin of 8.7 percent. Vice President Jacek Podgórski noted that geopolitical instability in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz caused energy raw material prices to rise, which both increased costs and drove European interest in local production.
Simultaneously, labor unions from Siarkopol, part of Grupa Azoty, are calling for the company to be separated from the group and merged with Enea. The Solidarność union has appealed to Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the Ministry of State Assets, arguing that the current structure blocks over 100 million PLN in necessary investments. The union warns that a lack of investment in new sulfur deposits could increase Poland's dependence on imported raw materials and impact future fertilizer production costs.
