Grupo Bimbo to create over 1,000 jobs with new Puebla plant expansion

The municipal government announced that Grupo Bimbo will invest 1.76 billion pesos to build a second food‑manufacturing complex in the La Resurrección industrial zone of Puebla capital. The project is expected to generate 130 direct jobs and roughly 1,000 indirect positions, bolstering local employment and economic activity.

Mayor José Chedraui also indicated that Danone will make a separate investment in the same industrial park, and that 1,000 AI‑enabled security cameras will be installed within the next two weeks. The Bimbo expansion is part of a broader 2025‑2028 plan that foresees more than $2 billion in investments across multiple Mexican states to modernise facilities, increase production capacity and adopt sustainable practices.
