In late July 2026, Grupo Bimbo announced a 1.76 billion‑peso investment to build a second food‑manufacturing complex in Puebla’s La Resurrección industrial zone, projected to create about 130 direct jobs and roughly 1,000 indirect positions. The project is part of a broader 2025‑2028 plan to modernise facilities and expand capacity across several Mexican states.

A few days later, the company reported a second consecutive quarter of currency‑neutral sales growth in North America, with net sales up 1.3% and operating income rising 27.5% to €103 million. It attributed the performance to market‑share gains, a stronger product mix, productivity improvements from its transformation program, and a consumption boost linked to the FIFA World Cup. Concurrently, Grupo Bimbo entered advanced talks to acquire Spanish waffle maker Punto Gofre, aiming to strengthen its European presence following earlier factory purchases in Valencia and Valladolid.
