Grupo MAS expands retail presence in Málaga with Cash Fresh Ayala
Grupo MAS has launched a new phase of regional expansion in Andalusia with the opening of the Cash Fresh Ayala store in Málaga. This opening is part of a broader strategic transformation to convert 20 former Maskom locations into Supermercados MAS, Cash Fresh, and MAS&Go formats throughout the province over the next year.
Chief Executive Jerónimo Martín stated that the group aims to double its presence in eastern Andalusia, with a long-term goal of reaching 150 stores in the region. To support this growth, the company plans to reinvest 100% of its profits into the area, strengthen ties with local suppliers, and develop a new regional logistics hub.
The new 900-square-metre facility features an enhanced Fresh Food Market concept, including a fresh-fish section sourcing directly from Andalusian markets and the debut of ‘La Cocina de la Abuela Faustina’, a proprietary takeaway brand. The store was built to eco-efficiency standards, utilizing high-efficiency lighting and refrigeration systems designed to increase cooling capacity by 25% while reducing energy consumption.
