Grupo SBF reports 63% profit increase driven by World Cup sales
Grupo SBF, the owner of Centauro and operator of Nike in Brazil via Fisia, reported a 62.7% increase in adjusted net profit for the second quarter of 2026, reaching R$ 141.9 million. The company achieved record consolidated net revenue of R$ 2.2 billion, a 22.1% year-on-year increase.
Management attributed the strong performance to the 2026 World Cup. As of July 31, the group sold over 1.5 million tournament-related items, including 1 million Brazilian national team jerseys, 352,000 CBF-licensed products, and 169,000 official balls. Jersey sales volume was 56.9% higher than during the 2022 World Cup.
CEO Gustavo Furtado noted that the results stemmed from a combination of a new growth cycle and specific World Cup planning that began over a year in advance. Preparations included expanding commercial teams, increasing store staff, and renovating locations following a period focused on debt reduction.
