Gás do Povo: Caixa releases September gas vouchers for 4.2 million families

Caixa Econômica Federal has begun releasing the September vouchers for the Gás do Povo program, benefiting approximately 4.2 million low-income families in Brazil. The program provides a free refill for a 13 kg cooking gas cylinder at accredited retailers.

The frequency of the benefit depends on family composition as registered in CadÚnico: families with two or three members receive one refill every three months (four per year), while families with four or more members receive one every two months (six per year).

To access the benefit, the head of the household must perform an electronic validation at a participating retailer using a Caixa 'Azulzinha' machine. Valid methods include using a Bolsa Família chip card, a Caixa debit card, or providing a CPF with a validation code sent via SMS. The benefit covers only the gas refill and does not include the cost of the cylinder or delivery fees.
