Gás do Povo releases LPG recharge vouchers for Brazilian families

Caixa Econômica Federal has released the recharge vouchers for the Gás do Povo social program, benefiting millions of low-income families in Brazil. The distribution for August begins on the 10th, with the benefit remaining available for use until September 9th.

Eligibility and frequency depend on family composition as recorded in the Cadastro Único. Households with two or three members receive a voucher every three months, while families with four or more members are entitled to one every two months. The benefit is non-cumulative; if not used within the designated period, the recharge is canceled when a new one is released.

Beneficiaries can validate their recharge at approximately 25,000 accredited resellers using one of several methods: the Bolsa Família chip card with a password, a Caixa debit card, a CPF with a validation code sent via mobile phone, or a code generated through the program's official application. The subsidy covers the full cost of a 13kg LPG cylinder, though it does not cover potential fees for the cylinder itself or delivery services.
