Gáspár Orbán directed camel farm project in Chad

Internal documents reveal that Gáspár Orbán, son of the former Hungarian Prime Minister, exercised significant control over humanitarian and agricultural projects in Chad. Despite holding the rank of captain in the Hungarian Defense Forces, Orbán acted as the de facto leader of the mission through the Africa Working Group (MUCS).

A key component of this involvement was a camel farm project managed by the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE). Documents identify Orbán as the ‘Project Leader,’ noting that any procurement or modifications planned by MATE required his personal approval.

Reports indicate that Orbán’s influence led to several changes in the project's scope. This included requesting the travel of ten Chadian specialists to Hungary—a requirement not in the original university plans—and splitting the project into two phases rather than one. While the project aimed to establish a camel farm and knowledge center, the scope was ultimately reduced to a 50-hectare pilot farm following the guidance and professional review provided by Orbán and the working group.
