GTA 6 eligible for The Game Awards 2026

The Game Awards 2026, scheduled for December 10, is expected to feature major industry titles such as GTA 6, Resident Evil Requiem, and The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Due to its planned release date of November 19, 2026, GTA 6 meets the eligibility requirements for the ceremony, which requires games to be released by November 20.

The selection process for nominees is conducted by an international jury consisting of over 100 specialized media outlets and content creators. Each participating outlet submits a confidential ballot ranking their top five titles per category. The five games appearing on the most ballots are selected as nominees. While public voting is part of the event, the professional jury holds significant weight in determining the winners for major categories like Game of the Year.
