Gua Musang Bailey bridge installation reaches 45 percent completion

Construction of a 42-meter Bailey bridge on the FT08 road between Gua Musang and Kota Bharu has reached approximately 40 to 45 percent completion. The temporary structure, which is 7.35 meters wide, is designed to allow two-way traffic once finished.

The bridge installation is expected to be completed by October 21, with all related works scheduled for conclusion by October 25. This infrastructure project follows the closure of the FT08 route on October 10, after a sinkhole measuring roughly 8 meters deep and 9 meters long occurred near the Kesedar Ethnobotany Recreation Park.

Galas State Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim noted that while progress has improved, work has faced slight disruptions due to rain. He has requested that the Public Works Department (JKR) issue warning notices and speed limit signs to ensure road user safety once the bridge is operational.
