Gua Musang man found dead in 100-meter ravine

A 60-year-old man was found dead in a ravine in Gua Musang, Malaysia, after being missing for two days. His body and his Toyota Hilux were discovered at the bottom of a approximately 100-meter deep gorge at Jalan Ladang Pos Pulat.

The accident is believed to have occurred on Sunday afternoon while the man was driving downhill. It is suspected that he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into the ravine. Because the location was remote and there were no witnesses, the accident went unnoticed by the public.

The man's family and colleagues were able to locate the site using the ‘live location’ feature from his mobile phone, which showed his last known position in the area. Colleagues searched the location on Tuesday and discovered the vehicle at the bottom of the slope.

Emergency responders from the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) recovered the body from the gorge and transported it to the Gua Musang Hospital forensic unit for an autopsy. Gua Musang District Police Superintendent Sik Choon Foo stated that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
