Fatal road accidents in Gua Musang

Overview

Two separate fatal road accidents have been reported in the Gua Musang region of Malaysia.

In the first incident, a 60-year-old man was found dead at the bottom of a 100-meter deep gorge at Jalan Ladang Pos Pulat. It is suspected the man lost control of his Toyota Hilux while driving downhill. His body and vehicle were located by colleagues using a mobile phone ‘live location’ feature after he had been missing for two days. Police are investigating the matter under the Road Transport Act 1987.

A subsequent multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road involving three Perodua Myvi vehicles and a motorcycle. The crash was triggered when a red Myvi veered into the oncoming lane, striking an orange Myvi before colliding with a white Myvi. The accident resulted in the deaths of a 33-year-old woman and her two-month-old daughter. Authorities are also investigating this incident under the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.
