Guadalajara Airport records surge in June travelers and launches new ride‑hailing platform hub

The Guadalajara International Airport reported that June 2026 saw a record 1.565 million passengers, an increase of 85,585 over the same month in 2025 and the highest June traffic ever recorded. From January to June, total passenger traffic reached 9.2 million, 206,000 more than the previous year, driven by the FIFA World Cup matches held in Mexico and special operations for high‑level visits such as Spain’s king.

A new “Patio for Platform Vehicles” opened on 5 June to serve ride‑hailing drivers exclusively. In its first month the facility handled 45,789 services, including a peak of 2,323 rides on 25 June during the Spain‑Uruguay match. Officials said the platform “responds to a real mobility need” and improves safety, efficiency, and airport‑area traffic flow, with 24‑hour operations, Wi‑Fi, charging stations and constant supervision by the Jalisco Transport Secretariat.
