Guadalajara province launches multicampus Innovation and Technology Center
On 14 July, the president of the Diputación de Guadalajara, José Luis Vega, and María Teresa del Val, director general of the Fundación General of the University of Alcalá, signed a cooperation agreement to create a Center of Innovation and Development Technological (CITE) in the province. The provincial government will provide €260,000, with the foundation responsible for implementing the project by 2026.
The CITE will be a multicampus hub intended to drive innovation, transfer university knowledge to local industry, attract national and international investment, generate qualified jobs and address rural depopulation. Its activities will focus on sectors where Guadalajara has comparative advantages, including advanced logistics and intralogistics 4.0, agro‑food and bioeconomy, health, biotechnology and energy.
