Water infrastructure projects underway in Mexico, Spain, and Honduras

Various regional authorities are implementing infrastructure projects to improve water quality and supply. In Jalisco, Mexico, the government has begun dredging the Las Pintas and La Calera dams to reduce contamination and recover storage capacity within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. To manage service during these works, SIAPA has launched a digital platform for residents in 627 neighborhoods to monitor scheduled low-pressure periods.

In Spain, Aguas del Huesna is preparing a project to modernize the Las Chimeneas treatment plant in Villanueva del Río y Minas. The plan involves incorporating ozone and activated carbon filtration to improve water quality for approximately 250,000 residents in Seville.

In Honduras, the Municipal District of Central (AMDC) has reactivated a well in the Satélite colony. The well, which produces 100 gallons per minute, is expected to benefit over 5,000 people, including students at the Cultura Nacional educational center.
