Regional water infrastructure development
Overview
Various regional authorities are implementing projects to improve water quality and supply across several countries.
In Mexico, Jalisco authorities have begun dredging the Las Pintas and La Calera dams to reduce contamination and recover storage capacity. A digital platform was launched to help residents monitor scheduled low-pressure periods. In Spain, plans are underway to modernize the Las Chimeneas treatment plant using ozone and activated carbon filtration. Meanwhile, in Honduras, a well has been reactivated in the Satélite colony to benefit over 5,000 people.
In Costa Rica, the construction of a one-million-liter water storage tank in Santa Rosa de Pocosol has been completed. In Nicaragua, a potable water system improvement project in San Dionisio, Matagalpa, has reached 95% physical progress, involving the installation of piping, a water intake structure, and a treatment plant.
