Guadeloupe drug trafficking uncovered after traffic stop; Dakar counterfeiting crackdown yields arrests

A routine roadside check by gendarmes in Capesterre-Belle-Eau, Guadeloupe, led to the discovery of a drug trafficking operation. At the driver's home, authorities found several types of drugs and, after rapid proceedings, the suspect was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Separately, in Dakar, the urban security unit of the central police dismantled a group involved in producing and distributing counterfeit currency; several suspects were arrested after illicit banknotes were found in their possession, following a tip-off that prompted the operation.
