Guanajuato accredits first state cardioprotected spaces

The Guanajuato Ministry of Health has accredited the first three ‘Cardioprotected Spaces’ in the state, located in Irapuato at Tec de Monterrey, Inforum, and Expo Agroalimentaria Guanajuato. This initiative, announced during World Heart Day, recognizes institutions capable of responding to cardiovascular emergencies. Officials noted that timely intervention in non-hospital settings can significantly increase survival rates for cardiovascular events, where mortality can reach 90 percent without immediate care.

In conjunction with these efforts, the University of Guanajuato held an academic and training session at its Celaya-Salvatierra campus to strengthen cardiovascular prevention. The event included 217 participants in workshops focused on recognizing heart attacks, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the proper use of automated external defibrillators (AED). The program emphasized the importance of community preparedness and the ‘Activate, reperfuse, and save’ approach to emergency response.
