CFE and Guanajuato announce major electrical infrastructure investment
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and the government of Guanajuato have established a coordination plan to address electrical infrastructure needs across the state's municipalities. During a meeting between Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo and CFE Director General Emilia Esther Calleja Alor, local leaders discussed issues regarding service continuity, quality, and urban growth.
To support these efforts, the CFE has announced an investment of approximately 2.167 billion pesos for the period between 2026 and 2030. This funding will primarily target the commissioning and expansion of substations, which will account for 94.1% of the investment, alongside circuit construction and recalibration.
In Celaya, officials reported that the investment will specifically address the replacement of aging wiring and transformers to mitigate frequent voltage fluctuations and power outages. The state government has designated the Ministry of Economy as the official liaison to track municipal requests and ensure the progress of these energy projects.
