Guanajuato cancer survivors to participate in life runway event

The “Pasarela de la Vida” (Runway of Life) event is scheduled for October 19 at the Teatro del Bicentenario. The initiative will bring together 55 cancer patients and survivors from various hospitals in Guanajuato to participate in a fashion show designed to boost self-esteem and emotional well-being.

Originally started as a small event within the Hospital Materno Infantil by emotional support specialist Irazú Patricia Serna García, the initiative has grown into a state-level event with the support of Grisel Quiroz Romero, president of the Comité Estatal de Patronatos y Voluntariados de Guanajuato (CEPAV). The program aims to help women reconstruct their self-concept and confidence, particularly following physical changes such as mastectomies, while strengthening social support networks.
