Cancer survivor support initiatives in Guanajuato

Overview

In Guanajuato, the ‘Pasarela de la Vida’ (Runway of Life) event is scheduled for October 19 at the Teatro del Bicentenario. This initiative involves 55 cancer patients and survivors from various hospitals participating in a fashion show intended to improve self-esteem and emotional well-being.

Originally a small program at the Hospital Materno Infantil led by specialist Irazú Patricia Serna García, the initiative has expanded to a state-level event with support from the Comité Estatal de Patronatos y Voluntariados de Guanajuato (CEPAV). The program focuses on helping women reconstruct self-confidence following physical changes, such as mastectomies, and strengthening social support networks.
