Guanajuato Electoral Institute issues rulings on political sanction procedures

The General Council of the Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato (IEEG) has approved resolutions regarding sanctioning procedures involving local deputy Maribel Aguilar González.

In one case (File 02/2026-PSO-CG), the IEEG found no evidence of illegal use of public resources, personalized government propaganda, or premature campaigning regarding social program videos in Irapuato. Consequently, the allegations against the deputy and the Morena party were dismissed.

In a separate case (File 03/2026-PSO-CG), the IEEG ruled that an infraction occurred because an official report of activities was disseminated outside the legally permitted timeframe. The institute has ordered the matter to be referred to the State Congress for appropriate action.
