Guanajuato Governor demands CFE infrastructure investment to stop outages
Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo has called on the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to invest in infrastructure to prevent frequent power outages across the state. During a meeting with CFE head Emilia Calleja and various mayors, the Governor emphasized that certain municipalities, particularly in the northeast, have experienced service interruptions lasting several days.
The Governor noted that poor infrastructure, including damaged utility poles, has caused secondary issues such as damage to community well pumps. In addition to requesting productive investment to stabilize the electrical service, the state government proposed the creation of permits to promote clean energy projects, including solar and wind power.
