Guanajuato launches 2026 wine harvest and gastronomic festivals

The state of Guanajuato opened its 2026 wine harvest season, the Vendimias Guanajuato, with the first celebration in El Durazno on August 1. Sixteen festivals will run through October 18 in Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe and Silao, drawing an estimated 17,100 visitors. Tourism and Identity Secretary Lupita Robles León said the events showcase the region’s wine production—fourth in the nation—and aim to boost local tourism, artisans and service providers. Guanajuato produces more than 1.6 million bottles annually, operates 82 viticultural projects and hosts 27 vineyards and bodegas. The season will culminate with an International Gala of the Brussels World Competition on 29‑30 November, expected to host participants from over 55 countries.

At the same time, the “Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! 2026” gastronomic season continues in August, offering events such as the Feria del Pulque in Doctor Mora (7‑9 Aug), the Luminaria en la Cocina in Valle de Santiago (9 Aug), the Feria del Mezcal y la Nieve in Comonfort (15 Aug) and the Fiesta del Vino in Dolores Hidalgo (15‑16 Aug). These festivals promote the state’s culinary heritage and attract both domestic and international tourists.
