Guanajuato State Hit by Multiple Fatal Shootings

At least 10 people were killed in two separate armed attacks on Saturday night in the rural municipalities of Salamanca and San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, while others watched World Cup matches. In the first incident at a beer stand in Puerto Blanco, seven men died and three others were wounded. A second attack in San Juan de Razos killed six people, including two teenagers, and injured one more.

A related shooting on Sunday in the community of Puerta Blanca left four men dead and three injured as they watched a World Cup 2026 game in a local drink stall. Authorities from municipal police, state public security forces, the National Guard and the army launched operations to locate the gunmen, but no arrests have been reported.

Additional incidents in the state include two young men shot while riding a motorcycle in the Tresguerras neighborhood of Celaya, and a 40‑year‑old man injured by gunfire inside a house in the San Miguel de León district of León. All attacks prompted forensic investigations and heightened police patrols across Guanajuato.
