Guanajuato weather forecast predicts heavy rain and temperature shifts

Meteorologists forecast heavy rainfall and variable temperatures for the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, due to a combination of atmospheric instability, low-pressure channels, and the arrival of the season's first cold front.

Experts from the University of Guanajuato estimate rainfall accumulations of 40 to 50 millimeters across much of the state this week. While minimum temperatures in the northern and mountainous zones may drop between 12 and 14 °C, maximum temperatures in areas such as Celaya and Irapuato could reach up to 33 °C.

The Secretaría del Agua y Medio Ambiente (SAMA) reports an 84% probability of heavy rain in León. Other municipalities expected to experience precipitation include Acámbaro, San Miguel de Allende, Celaya, Valle de Santiago, and San Luis de la Paz. The weather patterns are being driven by the interaction of the first cold front with tropical systems and the Mexican monsoon, which is expected to bring increased wind gusts and cloudy skies, particularly during the afternoons and evenings.
