Weather instability in Guanajuato, Mexico

Overview

Meteorologists have forecasted heavy rainfall and temperature fluctuations for the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The weather patterns are driven by the interaction of the season’s first cold front with tropical systems and the Mexican monsoon.

Experts from the University of Guanajuato estimate rainfall accumulations of 40 to 50 millimeters across much of the state. While minimum temperatures in northern and mountainous zones may drop to between 12 and 14 °C, maximum temperatures in areas such as Celaya and Irapuato could reach up to 33 °C. The Secretaría del Agua y Medio Ambiente (SAMA) reports an 84% probability of heavy rain in León, with precipitation also expected in Acámbaro, San Miguel de Allende, Celaya, Valle de Santiago, and San Luis de la Paz.
