Guard and dealer detained with marijuana in Paraguay and Colombia

Alcides Ramírez González, a 43‑year‑old prison guard in Paraguay, was stopped by investigators while driving a Volkswagen Golf. Officers found five packages containing a total of 2 kg 400 g of marijuana hidden in the vehicle, along with a cell phone, a notebook and a coat bearing the Ministry of Justice logo. The guard is suspected of attempting to bring the drug into the Penitenciaría Regional to supply inmates and has been placed under the custody of the public prosecutor.

In Girardot, Colombia, police responding to a tip intercepted Juan Camilo Molina Morales during a routine patrol. After a brief chase, officers recovered a pocket‑sized bag holding 36 individually wrapped marijuana cigarettes, allegedly intended for street‑level sales. Molina was arrested and processed for possession and distribution of illegal narcotics.
