Guardia Civil removes two hand grenades from a home in Oncala

The Guardia Civil removed two hand grenades from an attic in a residence in Oncala, Soria, on Saturday, August 22. The discovery was reported around 1:45 p.m. after a potential grenade was located in the attic.

Upon receiving the alert, a security patrol secured the premises to prevent any handling of the object until specialists arrived. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EDEX) team identified the first object as a WZ. 33 offensive hand grenade. Following an inspection of the attic authorized by the homeowner, a second grenade, an Otto Model 35, was also discovered.

Specialists determined that both grenades lacked explosive elements and posed no immediate risk of detonation. The items were removed by the Guardia Civil for safe destruction.
