Guardia di Finanza blood drive in Ascoli Piceno
Members of Italy's Guardia di Finanza in the Ascoli Piceno province donated blood over two days at the Mazzoni Hospital in Ascoli Piceno and the Madonna del Soccorso Hospital in San Benedetto del Tronto. The initiative, organised with the provincial branches of Avis and the local blood‑type association (AST), involved personnel from all regional units, including officers, inspectors and naval operators, with three volunteers donating for the first time.
Organisers highlighted the health benefits of regular donation – up to four times a year at 90‑day intervals – and encouraged participants to become repeat donors. The event aimed to promote a culture of voluntary blood donation in the community, especially among young people, and to demonstrate the Guardia di Finanza’s commitment to civic solidarity beyond its economic‑policing duties.
